Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced School Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) for a full-time role with school districts in Virginia Beach, VA. Requirements:
To apply for this position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Active Virginia State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience working as an SLP in a school or educational setting preferred
- Ability to pass background checks as required by state and local regulations
- Valid Virginia Drivers License (if required for travel between campuses)
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students with communication disorders, including articulation, language processing, fluency, and social communication challenges
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for speech and language disorders
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Conduct therapy sessions individually or in small groups, monitoring student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to support students' educational goals and communication development
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, evaluations, and progress reports
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide updates on student progress and goals
- Offer professional development and guidance to school staff on speech and language strategies
- Provide documentation to meet school district and state requirements
